SEO Analytics Platform

A multi-tenant crawler and monitoring platform spanning dashboards, Django APIs, PostgreSQL, Go workers, AWS, observability, CI/CD, and operational handoff.

  • saas
  • django
  • aws
  • observability
  • ci-cd

Problem

A multi-tenant SEO analytics product needed reliable crawling, dashboards, async processing, alerts, and deployment workflows without turning operations into manual recovery work.

Role

I led and implemented full-stack product, backend, worker, infrastructure, observability, and release workflow work across the platform.

Decisions

  • Modeled crawl jobs, retries, dashboards, and alerts as operational product workflows instead of only backend tasks.
  • Used explicit service boundaries across frontend, API, worker, database, infrastructure, and monitoring concerns.
  • Invested in CI/CD, observability, and documentation so the system could be operated and extended with lower delivery risk.

Implementation surface

  • Next.js dashboard and reporting surfaces for crawler status, site health, and operational visibility.
  • Django REST Framework APIs, PostgreSQL models, and Go workers for crawl execution, retries, and background processing.
  • AWS infrastructure, Terraform-managed environment changes, Sentry, CloudWatch, and CI/CD release workflows.

Verification

  • Used CI/CD checks and reviewable release steps to reduce deployment ambiguity.
  • Connected monitoring and alerting signals back to crawler behavior, retries, and customer-facing reporting.
  • Documented operational paths so failures could be diagnosed without relying on memory or tribal knowledge.

Outcome

The platform work improved the product's ability to crawl, monitor, report, and recover through clearer architecture and stronger operational feedback loops.

Handoff

The work left clearer system boundaries, operational context, and delivery notes around crawler behavior, monitoring, infrastructure, and release flow.

Proof points

  • Worked across Next.js, Django REST Framework, PostgreSQL, Go workers, AWS, Terraform, Docker, Sentry, CloudWatch, and CI/CD.
  • Connected dashboards, async processing, retries, alerts, and monitoring into one operational product model.
  • Provided technical leadership and delivery planning across product and platform surfaces.

Similar constraint?

Bring the product surface and the delivery risk.

A useful first conversation starts with the workflow that is getting harder to extend, the constraints around it, and the outcome that needs to be true after the work.
